La scrittrice americana Wallis Wilde Menozzi presenta al pubblico il volume "The Other Side of the Tiber - Reflections on Time in Italy", toccanti memorie sulla relazione di una donna con una nazione complessa e affascinante.
La poetessa Elisa Biagini introdurrà l'evento e intesserà un dialogo con l'autrice statunitense sull'Italia e la sua cultura.

Whereas Wallis Wilde-Menozzi, poet, essayist, novelist, is originally from Wisconsin, she lived several years in Palo Alto, California, and then moved to Parma, Italy, where she has resided and worked for almost three decades. She is the author of many books of distinguished, award winning poetry, a work on living in Italy, Mother Tongue, Am American Life in Italy (North Point Press, 2003), favorably reviewed in The New Yorker. A collection of her essays was published last year in Italy, L'oceano e dentro di noi (Moretti & Vitali, 2011). Wallis Wilde-Menozzi's poetry has been published in the Mississippi Review, Southwest Review, Notre Dame Review, Spoon River Poetry Review, Granta, Kenyon Review, Agni, et cetera. Wallis Wilde-Menozzi is on the steering committee and is active in the programs of the Chateau Lavigny, Writer's Residence, at Lavigny, Switzerland.
Elisa Biagini lives in Florence, Italy after having taught and studied in the U.S. for several years. Her poems have been published in several Italian and American reviews and anthologies. She has published 6 poetry collections- some biligual- such as “L’Ospite”, (Einaudi, 2004), “Fiato. parole per musica” (Edizionidif 2006) and “Nel Bosco” (Einaudi 2007). A selection of her poems just came out in New York (“The guest in the wood” (Chelsea editions, 2013) and her new collection is forthcoming in Italy. Her poems have been translated into English, German, Spanish, Portoguese, French, Croatian, Japanese, Slovak, Russian, Serbian, Arabic and Chinese and she has been invited to important poetry festivals such as: “Stanza-Scotland’s International Poetry Festival”; St. Andrews, Scotland; “Dubai International Poetry Festival”, UAE; “poesiefestivalberlin”, Berlin; International Writers Workshop, Hong Kong (residency); “Struga poetry evenings”, Struga, Macedonia; “Poetry Parnassus” London; “internationales literaturfestival berlin” Berlin and she has been a fellow at “Residences Internationales pour ecrivains au Chateau de Lavigny”, Suisse; “International Writers Workshop”, Hong Kong; “Fundacion Valparaiso”, Espana; “Fondazione Bogliasco-Centro studi ligure per le arti e le lettere”, Italia; “Hawthornden International Reatreat for Writers”, Scotland. She has translated several contemporary American poets for reviews, anthologies and complete collections (“Nuovi Poeti Americani” Einaudi, 2006). Finally, she teaches Creative Writing-Poetry, Travel Writing, Literature and Art History in American Universities in Italy and abroad.
