Biblioteca Internazionale Sala Bordeaux

The International Library was inaugurated on February 2, 2009 in the restored rooms of the former Benedictine Monastery of San Paolo.
It is named after the young RAI journalist Ilaria Alpi – with a Parma connection through her father, originally from Compiano – who was killed on March 20, 1994 in Somalia during a news reportage, together with her video operator Miran Hrovatin.
It is the latest of the Parma Municipality libraries to open and it is part, together with the other 7 libraries, of  the Istituzione Biblioteche del Comune di Parma.
